Guidance Documents – Design and Construction Process
Development of the Guidance Documents has followed a proven and systematic process. Once a topic needing the development of guidance has been identified, Stakeholders are identified who can positively influence and contribute to the development of the guidance document. These Stakeholders participate in a framing session which is conducted in a workshop setting and utilizes a proven process of brainstorming . This results in identification of themes that need to be addressed. These themes form the foundation of the guidance document. The themes are then further worked on by teams/sub-teams/individuals. The work output is subjected to a series of peer reviews, starting with a core group and expanding up to two more groups. The final product is reviewed by the core group and amended as necessary to be published on the MTS DP Committee web site. Upon publication, comments are invited from the end users. These comments are analyzed and addressed as appropriate in future revisions. After the initial revision the goal of this subcommittee would be to subject the revised documents to a two yearly review cycle and update as needed.
Sustainability
The committee depends on participation and advice and engagement with key personnel across the industry to generate documents based on the above process. The peer reviewed documents are subsequently reviewed and approved by core leadership of the committee. Presently it is intended that TECHOP documents, once published, will cover new material and or addendums to the primary documents. These TECHOP documents will be systematically reviewed for appropriate incorporation into the primary documents when undergoing their periodic review cycle. TECHOP material, when incorporated in the primary documents, shall be withdrawn as TECHOP’s.
Acknowledgement
DnV has volunteered to provide admin support to assist in publishing and maintaining the MTS DP Committee Guidance documents. This support is greatly appreciated and gracefully accepted. The MTS DP Committee wishes to recognize DnV for their contributions to the all voluntary efforts of the MTS DP Committee. Admin support will be used to establish and maintain the format of the documents on the MTS web site. Additionally this support will be leveraged to collate and organize comments on the documents from Industry to enable their being addressed appropriately by the subcommittee.
